ONE-MINUTE CAREER THERAPIST

By Karen Salmansohn

Conveying the true you? Just who do you think you are?

The answer to this question can help you to figure out who it is you will become.

Says who?

A new company called Carrie & Danielle, Inc. – which helps individuals find their “STYLE STATEMENT” in the same way that business consultants help companies figure out their “CORPORATE BRANDING STATEMENT.”

Their belief: “You must consistently communicate who you are in all you do -- in your voicemail, work style, meeting style, wardrobe, website.

This consistent authenticity is not only efficient, but magnetic. Consistency builds trust. And it lets people feel confident that they know what to expect from you.”

To help you tap into the power of being the truest you in all you do, Carrie and Danielle ask individuals a long list of questions, including:

What do you most desire right now? What do you want more of in your life? What’s working/not working? What is your ideal vocation -- if all monetary needs were met? What do you cherish materially? If anything were possible to change, what would you change?

From the answers, they hone in on two key words.
Word #1 represents 80% of a person -- “their core”– their unchanging foundation.
Word #2 represents the other 20% -- “the person’s unique edge/twist”

For example:
simple bohemian
sacred dramatic
classic luminous

These two words then become your STYLE STATEMENT – your inner compass to help you make decisions. If you’re “simple bohemian,” you know your fulltime job, business card, wardrobe etc must all represent both these aspects of you.

A specific success story: They created a STYLE STATEMENT of “elegant invitation” for a real estate broker – who afterwards designed her “calling postcard” to literally look like an elegant invitation. The result? More responses than ever -- from people who “got her” -- and she “got them” -- so sales increased more than ever.
